The last episode of season 1 for Supernatural started out
I think okay but not great. This is
because throughout the season you are waiting for the big showdown between the
boys and the thing that killed their mother only it does not happen. Instead, it ends with the viewer wanting
more. Therefore, for everyone about to
read this synopsis I am sorry in advance for not giving anything away about
Season 2.
This episode picks up right off where the last episode
leaves off. If you want to know what
happen in the last episode, I put links up to all Season 1 recaps off TV.com on
the right side
Episode Synopsis
Dean calls his father’s cell only to have Meg answer it. She tells them that she knows their father
gave her a normal Colt and that they have the real Colt and that she wants it. This tells the boys that she has their father
and he could be dead but they do not want to believe it.
Dean starts packing everything they own up and tells Sam
that they need to leave because the demon does know that they have The Colt. While in the car, Dean says that before they
go after their father the need to get some help.
Next, they pull up into a driveway that has an old “Singer’s
Auto Salvage” sign arching above. Around
the house and in the yard are old vehicles parts and vehicles. Inside the house, is a grumpy old man name
Bobby, who owns every rare book about anything supernatural.
After Sam finds a protection symbol in one of the books
he ask Bobby if it for real. Bobby answers
yeah and it is called the Key of Salomon, meant to trap demons inside it.
Then, Bobby tells them that he normally only hears about
3-4 demon possessions a year, but this year along he has heard of 27. He tells them that this means something big is
about to happen and Sam, Dean and John are in the middle of it.
Next, Bobby dog starts to bark only to be killed. A moment later, Meg breaks down the door, and
starts asking for The Colt. Only she
walks right under a Key of Salomon drawn on the ceiling. The scene goes black and Meg, still under the
Key of Salomon, is tied to a chair. Dean
is interrogating her like a bad cop. She
says something that makes him upset enough to hit her.
Dean walks into the next room, where Bobby calls them
idiots, because they cannot tell that that is a girl being possessed by a
demon. Now Dean and Sam have a new way
of handling Meg. Dean interrogates while
Sam does an exorcism hoping to coax the whereabouts of their father out of her.
She tells them that there is a building
in Jefferson City, MO. Bobby comes in saying that if they finish the exorcism
that the girl will die, since her body fell six stories (See Episode 16 “Shadow”)
and the only thing keeping her alive is the demon. Dean tells Sam to finish the exorcism anyways
so the girl can die instead of being torture by the demons doings.
Sam finished the exorcism, to find out the girl is still
alive but only barely. She tells them thank you and that the building they are
looking for is Sunrise, before she dies. Bobby has them leave before the cops show up.
In the next scene, they get to Jefferson City, Mo, Sam
and Dean get into a fight about The Colt and the thing that killed their mother. Sam draws two devil trap signs on the trunk
of the car and tells dean that it is so The Colt can be safe while they go get
their father. Dean throws a gun that
looks like The Colt into the Trunk.
Next,
they walk upon an apartment complex called Sunrise. Realizing that anyone can be a demon inside and
thinking that the demons would be the only ones that will stay in the building
when there is a fire, Sam goes inside, pulls the fire alarm, and exits.
Everyone
exits the building except for a man and a woman in a third floor apartment. This man and woman are possessed by demon. The demons walk into the bedroom, where John,
laying spread eagle, is tied to the bed.
Sam and
Dean enter the place wearing firefighter suits and lock the demons in the
living area closet. While Sam holds the
closet door close, Dean pours salt on the floor in a half circle around Sam and
the closet door Next, they walk into the bedroom to untie their father, but
only after Sam tests him, to make sure he is not possessed by a demon.
They
start to walk to the front do only to have new demons walk into the apartment. The Winchesters go back into the bedroom,
lock the door, and pour more salt on the floor, in a line from one side of the
door to the other side, only to have the demons ax at the door. The Winchesters go out the bedroom window and
down the fire escape ladders. Once they
get to ground level, Sam gets attack by another demon. Dean trying to help is thrown on top of a car. Dean gets off the car and fires a bullet from
The Colt at the demon’s head. Now, The
Colt has two bullets left.
Sam,
Dean and John leave and go to a deserted cabin.
Inside they have a family moment, in which John says he is proud of Dean
for protecting his brother even though it means using a bullet. The lights start to flash, and all three
realize that the demons found them. Sam
goes and rechecks the doors and window to make sure they are lock and the salt
is still in place. John asks Dean for
the gun. Dean realizes that John is possessed,
because his father would be furious with him right now for wasting a bullet. Sam comes back and takes Dean’s side. The demon inside John shows its eyes; only
instead of black, they are yellow. Sam
and Dean realize that this is the thing that killed their mother. The Demon pins them against the wall with his
mind and tells them that the two demons they killed were is daughter and son,
making this personal for all of them.
The Demon also tells them that he has plans for Sam and the children
like him.
Sam
breaks free of the Demon and shoots him in the leg with The Colt (one bullet left). This injuries John leg, but does not kill the
Demon. John, trying to hold on to the
Demon, tells Sam to shoot him in the head. Sam does not and the Demon escapes out John’s
mouth as black smoke.
Next,
Sam, Dean, and John are in the car going to the hospital, only they get push
off the road by a trucker, possessed by a demon.
